Charge!

In each of the three mazes below, you can’t walk — you can only charge! That means once you choose a direction (up, down, left or right, but not diagonally), you must keep going until you hit a wall. Only then can you choose a new direction. Can you get from start to finish in all three mazes?

Plus One / Minus One

Starting at the 1 in the upper left corner, can you make your way to the 10 in the lower right? On each turn, you can move to any space in the same row or column, as long as the number you move to is one greater or one less than your current number.

Word Maze

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

No, really, this is a maze. Start at the word WAY in the top row, and make your way to the word OUT. You can only move up, down, left, or right, and each word you move to must share a letter with the word you’re currently on. So you can move in any direction from WAY, because AGE shares the A, OWE shares the W, and BOY shares the Y. But which way should you go? Watch out for dead ends. Can you find your way out?

Number Maze

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

In this maze, the number you’re standing on tells you how many spaces you can move. You’ll start on the 4 in the upper left corner, which means your first move will be four spaces either down or to the right. The number you land on will tell you how many spaces you can jump on your next move. You may only move up, down, left, or right. Can you make it to FINISH?
